Top engine Cleaning Needs to be part of your regular maintenance program!

Top engine Cleaning Needs to be part of your regular maintenance program!

We get many cars in here that just don’t run as well as they should.  In most cases they have been relatively well maintained but lack one very important task and that’s a complete top engine cleaning.  Most do it yourselfers think that adding a bottle of injector cleaner in the tank once and awhile is good enough, well it’s not.  Over time, gunk and sludge will slowly form in the top of the engine and begin to clog the injectors.  This reduces the performance and robs you of power and gas mileage.

We recommend that you perform a top end engine cleaning at least every 40,000 miles. The benefits of this process include:

1. Cleans the Engine to reduce carbon and sulfur emissions.
2. Maintains the longevity and performance of the vehicle.
3. Helps in improving fuel mileage.
4. Keeps the catalytic converter and engine sensors safe.
5. Brings back compression to factory levels.
6. Eliminates Hydrostatic Engine Lock.

Top engine Cleaning – How is it done?

1. The first step requires cleaning the throttle plate and with the use of a cleaning wand, the intake.  The wand helps us get the cleaning solution deep into the engine intake manifold. Start by placing the wand as far inside as possible and spray lavishly as you back out. This process will clean out and loosen up most of the dirt. Any deposits left will be removed when the car is running, later in the process.

2. The next step involves using a top end cleaner to clean the upper part of the engine. Start by removing the vacuum line and connect the line to the top end cleaner and start the car engine. As the engine runs, push the button on the can to allow the additives to enter the engine. This process will make the motor stall. At this point put more of the chemical into the engine and start revving the engine again. Keep repeating this process over and over again, until you run out of the additive in the can. After, let the engine rest for about an hour and for better results you can let it sit for an entire night.  This gives time for the chemical to dissolve the grime inside of the engine and start to remove the carbon waste that has formed.

3. After it has sat, it is time to remove the additive, along with the carbon waste and plaque from the car engine. To do this, start the engine and run the car pretty hard.  This will this will push out all the

remaining chemicals from the engine. There could be considerable smoke at first.  This is normal.  After a while this smoke will clear up when the top engine cleaning solvent has all been forced out.

4. The last step is to clean out the fuel system with the help of high quality fuel injector cleaner. This is poured into the gas tank and run through the system as the gas is utilized.  This helps maintain the injectors, intake valves, and pistons to factory specifications.
